Many people are dissing the new trend of crop tops. Well it's not really new, anyone remember the 90's??? However, I LOVE IT! Yes, it doesnt flatter exactly everyone but if you've got the shape for it I say go get it! It also has to be worn with the right things, a la shorts, preferably not high waisted and not anything that hides your belly button. You're showing that much you might as well show it all! I've recently bought two cropped tops because they both reminded me of what dancers would wear in the 80's and 90's and I'm obsessed with those two decades. One is a hot pink crop top from Charolette Russe with Kitson written in splatter paint and another I got from Forever 21 (for only 4 bucks! Woo hoo!) that is black (I really need to stop buying black) and in silver glitter has the Alice and Wonderland logo. I'm thinking of wearing one of them (WITHOUT a tank underneath-scandalous!) for my birthday celebration next Friday when me and my friends chill out and watch every Disney Movie known to man kind. Let's hope I pull it off!Thursday, March 18, 2010

Spring Break Is Here

Not even kidding you, this is her front yard.
More desert
Tacos de Barbacoa. SO YUMMY.
Mango Slushy type thing
The lovely mexican restaurant we attended. SOOO good.

I spent the first weekend of my spring break in Tucson, Arizona visiting my new but dear friend Christina. Yes, Tucson is pretty much in the middle of the Arizona desert. I didnt know what I was getting into when I decided to take the two hour drive down there but I did end up having a really good time. I went on my first quad ride, if you consider ride being hanging on to the back of christina for dear life while screaming to slow down, went shopping at the Tucson malls (which took an hour to get to the nearest one from her house) and eating delicious Mexican cuisine. I gotta hand it to Christina, she knew all the hot spots. Michoachan is the name of a Mexican State but this Michoachan is the name of a small mexican restaurant that had the best tacos I had ever eaten. I am such a bad Puerto Rican for loving Mexican food. We ended the night with having a bonfire in her backyard eating smores and listening to Britney Spears' Greatest Hits album. I gotta say, I plan on returning.

In love with love...

I just finished reading "The Last Song" by Nicholas Sparks and am once again in love with the idea of love. I know love isnt something you can buy. (JLo wrote a whole song about that. My looove dont cost a thang!) But what is it about summer love that's so....mesmerizing? And even though everyone knows it's going to end (Most of the time) they go for it anyways? There's just something about summer. Usually I NEVER want summer to come because Arizona is well a desert and there's no oceans around to make it bearable. Just pools. And pools. And pools. Not so fun. Especially because I'm not a swimmer. I'm hoping and crossing my fingers for something to happen to me this summer. I'm going back to Europe except this time I will be exploring London and France. My mom will practically be begging me to find myself a European boy toy and God wouldn't that just be the best? Having fun with someone foreign, they dont know anything about you, none of your embaressing secrets, they didnt know you in elementary school when you were extremeley awkward looking and wore glasses? And my absolute favorite-no friends to embaress you and ruin your one and only chance with a guy -_- (Personal experience. Can you tell?)
I was talking to my friend Sadie today and she said that she thinks next year will be the year for me and her to find our right guys. I hope she's right. I can only read about love for so long without experiencing it.

Rain...Rain...Wait-Dont go away!!!
It rains like...once every year in Arizona. This year though we have been getting boat loads! One week it literally rained everyday for like five days. The thing about Arizona rain, in the exception of the summer when monsoons happen, it's always very pretty and calming to watch. My little puppy (ok big puppy!) Cherokee enjoyed playing in the rain since she's not used to it. My little Malteses ran away from it. I'm also NOT a jeans and T shirt kind of girl but when bad weather strikes it's time to pull out the sweat shirts!!! My favorite? My cheer sweatshirt from freshman year. Sooo comfy. And I was also having an incredibly good hair day :) Those are rare :P
I have AIMS testing tomorrow which I am not looking forward to. For you non Arizonans it's just the standardized high school test you have to pass to graduate. I'm not worried about the next two days, they are just reading and writing, my best subjects. The math test in April is what I"m going to be freaking out about. But let's not worry just yet.
I think this sweatshirt will be worn tomorrow as well. It's ok to take a lazy day once a year ;)

Sometimes we just want to be left alone
There is always about one day every once in a while where I just want to be by myself. No interuptions. No constant noise. Maybe just me and my ipod for a few hours and getting to sleep in. Everyone needs that once in a while. On those days I'm easily irritated and it doesnt help everyone takes everything that I'm saying the wrong way. One of those moments happened just a few minutes ago, and instantly "Leave Me Alone" popped into my head.
Jasmine

I was on Teenvogue.com since sadly my subscription ended without me knowing and I've head to borrow them from my friend to get any real look at them lately, well, I took a "What Disney Princess are you??" Quiz and you can see my result! I love Jasmine and Aladdin is one Disney movie I can watch over and over and OVER again. Jasmine is such a strong princess who doesnt just diddle daddle for her Prince to come. She actually doesnt want to be tied down! She's my second favorite Disney Princess, Ariel, of course being number one because of her love for music and singing. I can relate. *shy*
I SHOULD be doing my Britney shoot BUT mother nature granted me a surprise RIGHT before my competition yesterday and so I'm a wee bit exhausted. The good thing is though I dont have practice at all this week since Cheer is kinda over so I will get it done soon. (I feel so bad for all these unfulfilled promises but I will get it done!!) Oh, and about the competition we came in second place! We didnt even care if we got first because we literally pulled together our routine in two weeks and we hit everything, we were on point, and loud of course and did our coaches proud! Plus the winning team only beat us by nine points. Darn them.
Well I am off to bake some cookies. I will be craving all things sweet today and then all things salty and greasy tomorrow. Joy, joy, joy.
